Nisaptham Trust - Address and PAN for 80G

Today (July 31st) is the last day for filing income tax returns. Donations to charity and political parties are exempted for tax under Indian income tax clause 80G.

When it comes to donations, World Vision India used to be my choice because of their professionalism and prompt communications.

Of late, having heavily impressed by Nisaptham Blogger's writings about his charity work, I thought of sending meager amount to his charity Nisaptham Trust. Unfortunately, when I sent that in March, it was not a pleasant experience. I had to randomly follow him through email and WhatsApp to get PAN of Nisaptham Trust; he shared that PAN details after 3-months.

When I try filing returns yesterday, it was another shock; apart from PAN, I also need to furnish the charity address. I quickly searched through Google and there were no results about the address; I can only find its bank account details. Google's autocomplete suggestions hinted the possibility of such queries by others though. One option is to contact the charity and get the address; but I had no hope on its speedy response. So, I had to dig for about 3 hours and found the charity address hidden in some scanned photos.

And, thought of putting up here for anyone who's searching same address and PAN details of Nisaptham Trust:

Nisaptham Trust
No. 320, 4th Main Road,
AECS Layout, 'B' Block,

Hope this helps somebody.

Vodafone India privacy problem: exposes phone numbers

Vodafone India is exposing website surfer/user's phone number to the partner website when using mobile data plan. It might be offering hidden API to those partner websites to uniquely identify users. I have noticed it around 1-year before, thought about blogging, but forgot it at that time. Now, I have got some time and so thought of explaining the issue.

How I noticed the issue?

Sometime ago, I've bought SanDisk microSD card. In the wrapper, they've mentioned about some offer about hungama (Still available in SanDisk website at The URL mentioned was and when I opened that in my mobile browser, it was prompting with Welcome, 91-98XXXXXXXX.
Phone number leaked by Vodafone India

I was shocked as I never seen anything like that before. So, I immediately opened the same URL in my desktop browser and got completely different page:
Desktop version of the same page

And, again I tried to open the same page in mobile browser with Wi-Fi alone (by disabling Mobile Data), and now also they couldn't identify my mobile number. So, I realized that it might be something to do with the network (Vodafone). Initially I thought that they may be decoding the phone number from IP address. So, I asked Heleena (my wife) to figure out some pattern for that. Then it turn out that there is no definite pattern. I have also analyzed HTTP headers when browsing through Vodafone internet. Then, realized that hungama might be utilizing some hidden API from Vodafone to decode user's IP to mobile number.

Privacy Issue

At least for me, this looks like a serious privacy issue. hungama at least openly exposes the phone number to users, so that users can know that hungama can read their numbers/identity. But, there may be many sites--especially many social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc may still be uniquely identifying users without revealing it at all.

Buying curse aka house in Chennai

[Image: Blessing or Curse: You Can Choose by Derek Prince]
"All owned house people in Chennai are lunatic", some strangers were discussing in a bus. Since, I was reading Blessing or Curse: You Can Choose, book by Derek Prince, I thought little deeper on this. While analyzing on this topic, I have noted that the people of own house in Chennai are restless, have problematic personal and family life, prone of unexpected failures. Raju Murugan, once wrote about sons of Chennai soil in Ananda Vikatan magazine in which he's explained how these people are exploited and chased away from their own-native places. While correlating Derek Prince's doctrine and Raju Murugan's writing, I think, there are some curses.

UI/UX research: workflow-based filter

Workflow-based filter in GroupDeal

I'm quite proud that the workflow-based filter was first introduced by our team. It is now becoming popular and being adopted by many websites.
Workflow-based filter first introduced in CSSilize
When looking back... 3-years ago, when our team architected CSSilize, the game changer PSD to XHTML project management tool, to show the workflow of project statuses and to show the number of projects in that statuses this unique filter was first introduced after much of discussions, brainstorming and research.

P. A. Sangma as a President!

I'm a great fan of P. A. Sangma. About 10-years ago, I created/started his Wikipedia page. I'm glad to see the quotes I have added then are still there:
  • "Adventurism is easy, but restraint is far more difficult." - Against nuclear weapons in Lok Sabha debate
  • "Do you want to kill the whole world nine times? Do you want to kill the whole world 13 times? And, how can you kill a person a second time?" - Against nuclear weapons in Lok Sabha debate

Killers of Rajiv Gandhi - consolidated list with references

This is part of my Save Perarivalan series.

Who killed Rajiv Gandhi?... There are lots of theories about the killers. But, still Perarivalan and others are sentenced to capital punishment and few want them to be hanged. So, here is the consolidated list of Rajiv Gandhi killers--according to various theories:

  1. Sonia Gandhi according to Subramanian Swamy. In his book Do You Know Your Sonia?, which is available online in Janata Party website, Subramanian Swamy alleges Sonia’s relationship with Madhavrao Scindia and LTTE.

Reference: Madhavrao’s friendship continued even after Sonia’s marriage to Rajiv...

My investigations into Sonia’s involvement in Rajiv’s assassination is therefore necessary. I am also author of a best seller titled Assassination Of Rajiv Gandhi—Unasked Questions and Unanswered Queries[published by Konark in 2000] in which I have given some indications of this possible conspiracy.
-- Do You Know Your Sonia? - by Dr. Subramanian Swamy

  2. However, Sleuth Without A Clue. Smug tales, half-arguments, insufficient evidence: it's not elementary, Dr Swamy. Outlook Magazine dated June 12, 2000 is highly critical of his book The Assassination of Rajiv Gandhi: Unanswered Questions and Unasked Queries with a note: This renders Swamy's every sentence suspect, and ensures that his book fails even as a murder mystery, providing no solutions.
  3. Mossad of Israel according to T.N. Seshan. In Parliamentary discussions, Subramanian Swamy mentioned that  "... Shri Seshan who had written a biography in which he said that he told me that it was not the LTTE which killed Rajiv Gandhi, but it was Mossad."

Reference: There is, of course, the great Shri Seshan who had written a biography in which he said that he told me that it was not the LTTE which killed Rajiv Gandhi, but it was Mossad...

I am not going to go out of this because this is such a serious matter. I will not go out of it. Shri Seshan wrote a biography in which he has said that I got angry because he suggested to me that it was Mossad which was responsible and not the LTTE. I immediately wrote a letter to the Commission asking them to call Shri Seshan for cross -examination. The Commission called me first for cross-examination and asked me. I told the truth and I would like to tell the truth here. Shri Seshan came to my house and said, "Mossad has killed Rajiv Gandhi and not LTTE." I asked him, "Are you in a shock or have you got any basis?" He said, "No, I can find the basis." I asked, "How?" He said, "You tell Shri Chandrashekhar to make me the Home Minister of India and I will find the basis." Shri Chandrashekhar is sitting here. He went and met Shri Chandrashekhar...(Interruptions)...I would not tell you what Shri Chandrashekhar told me after he heard Shri Seshan. But that was what he told me. What did the Commission say after the cross-examination of Shri Seshan?..(Interruptions)...Yes, I plead guilty and apologise to the House for appointing and inflicting Shri T.N. Seshan on the nation.
-- Subramanian Swamy in Parliament of India
  4. Mossad of Israel according to Ex-Cabinet secretary Zafar Saifullah. As informed to justice Jain for Jain Commission.

Reference: Mossad Missives. Ex-Cabinet secretary Zafar Saifullah told Jain of the Israel link. Outlook Magazine dated July 20, 1998
  5. Godman Chandraswami (friend of Subramanian Swamy) through relations with the CIA, Mossad and the LTTE according to Ramesh Dalal, BJP activist.

Reference: Many witnesses have attested to the godman's dubious links with international agencies. Ramesh Dalal, BJP activist, deposed that he knew "Shri Chandraswami has relations with the CIA, Mossad and the LTTE. He took the help of these agencies in assassinating Rajiv Gandhi.... In the core group of Chandraswami, Rajendra Jain, Babloo Srivastava, K.N. Aggarwal, Subramanian Swamy, Chandra Shekhar, O.P. Chautala and Pinaki Misra were there. The people of this core group used to meet Chandraswami in his bedroom. Chandraswami told me he had been financing the LTTE..." -- Finally All Fingers Point To A  Foreign Hand. The Jain Commission's final report focuses on a larger international conspiracy, and the CIA-Mossad-LTTE link, in the Rajiv killing. Outlook Magazine dated July 20, 1998
  6. CIA/Mossad through LTTE according to Jain Commission report. Report is suggesting the role of LTTE.

Reference: Finally All Fingers Point To A  Foreign Hand. The Jain Commission's final report focuses on a larger international conspiracy, and the CIA-Mossad-LTTE link, in the Rajiv killing. Outlook Magazine dated July 20, 1998
  7. Subramanian Swamy according to Trichy Veluchamy (former Translator of Subramanian Swamy, currently with Congress party). According to Trichy Veluchamy, Subramanian Swamy told him that Rajiv Gandhi is assassinated--within few minutes of the incident--much before the news was spread and also Swamy didn’t book flight tickets as he had prior knowledge about the assassination.

Reference: Rajiv Gandhi assassination, conspiracy theories in English and subsequent links
  8. Godman Chandraswami, Janata Party leader Dr Subramanian Swamy and former PM Chandra Shekhar may have had prior knowledge of a threat or link with the conspirators, as per Jain Commission's final report.

Reference:  Finally All Fingers Point To A  Foreign Hand. The Jain Commission's final report focuses on a larger international conspiracy, and the CIA-Mossad-LTTE link, in the Rajiv killing. Outlook Magazine dated July 20, 1998
  9. Prabhakaran and Pottu Amman according to Karuna Amman. "Velupillai Prabhakaran and his intelligence chief Pottu Amman hatched the diabolical plot to kill former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi "silently" without the knowledge of anyone in the outfit", as per Karuna Amman.

Reference: Prabhakaran and Pottu Amman hatched Rajiv killing plot: Karuna Amman. The Times of India, dated April 29, 2009
  10. Inconclusive and Open-ended as per Jain Commission final report.

Reference:  Finally All Fingers Point To A  Foreign Hand. The Jain Commission's final report focuses on a larger international conspiracy, and the CIA-Mossad-LTTE link, in the Rajiv killing. Outlook Magazine dated July 20, 1998

Donating to Indian political parties through 80G

Communist party MLAs and MPs should share their salary (that they receive from government) with their party workers--Gnani once wrote about it. Ever since I've read that, I was looking for a website where we can donate to political parties. Recently I came to know that the Indian tax law 80G allows 100% rebate for donation to political party. I'm not sure, how many people are aware of it.

Crooked power cut for Koodankulam?

Chennai has now official 2-hours power cut per day. People from southern cities say that they have unofficial power cut--not less than 8-hours per day. Everybody says that it is worst in the history, especially when people voted against to DMK for its just [sic] 2-hours official power cut per day. Some people say that there is no need for power cut now and it's a crooked measure to get people's support against to Koodankulam agitators. More specifically, when people of Coimbatore started supporting the Anti-Koodankulam protesters, the power cut rose up from 4-hours to 10-hours. Long live politics!
